A non-renewable academic scholarship up to $500 is available to siblings of individuals with Down syndrome. Applicants must reside within DSANEO’s 16 counties and their loved one with Down syndrome must reside within DSANEO’s 16 counties.

- DSANEO’s 16 County service area includes: Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, and Wayne
- Applicants must be a high school graduate accepted to or currently attending a post-secondary program, or a high school senior expected to attend a post-secondary program after their upcoming graduation. Applicants must be accepted or currently attending an accredited technical school, university or college in pursuit of an associate, bachelors, masters or doctorate degree.
- Eligible fields of study include, but are not limited to: Nursing, Education, Social Work, Speech and Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Medicine.
Other areas of study will be considered at the discretion of the DSANEO Post-Secondary Scholarship Committee.
The 2025 George & Evelyn Cifra Bean Memorial Scholarship application period begins on Sunday, June 15, 2025 and closes on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at midnight.
